Our Bold Mission
To hold safe space for artists of all backgrounds to create artistically ambitious work joyfully with creativity, knowledge, skill, and talent, to serve persons of Manchester, and beyond
-
We believe that artists, especially those who are marginalised because of their disabled, racial, migrant, refugee, asylum seeking, working class backgrounds, heritages and lived experiences; and whose stories and skills are underrepresented in the performing, visual and media arts sector, need community and dedicated space to be able to thrive and grow in their creative practice. We hope to nurture the ideas, passions and dreams of creatives from a wide spectrum of life - producing a diverse and rich culture of generosity and ingenuity.
Think of us as an artistic garden for artists to seed, bud, and dwell - filled with creative cultural leaders whose specialisms refine, revive and refuel the heart, mind, soul and strength of those who are in this communal garden.
Like dandelion seeds, uniquely gifted artists are enabled to be gently released with confidence to tell stories with pristine clarity, relentless perseverance, unstoppable vigour, radical generosity, humility & raucous joy.

The pursuit of artistically ambitious, true, noble, right, pure, lovely and admirable work -
Principle #1
Encouraging artists to start by making work that points beyond themselves.
The artist has the gift to express artistically and beautifully, the painful things caused by social injustice, prejudice and marginalisation; the artist can use their talents to elevate voices, shed light into the darkness, make room for honest and open dialogue, and embed creative access at point of creation.
Principle #2
Encouraging artists to develop work through the exploration of timeless themes such as: love, justice, faithfulness and wisdom.
The artist has the willingness to think deeply and research with humility - themes that point towards the fullness of our humanity, to translate them artistically to the world and tell compelling stories.
Principle #3
Encouraging artists to present work and tell stories that glorify authenticity and wholeness so as to cultivate connected citizens who can co-create thriving communities, cities and nations.
The artist has the calling to pursue whatever that is true, honourable, just, pure, lovely, commendable, excellent and worthy of praise.
